Before the preparation for the Champions League starts, the stars of FC Bayern go on holiday. Hansi Flick explains details – also about the newcomers.

On Monday, Hansi Flick said goodbye to the holidays, but shortly before that, FC Bayern’s double coach revealed a few more details about how the preparations for the final phase of the Champions League will proceed.

He revealed that the three newcomers, Alexander Nübel, Leroy Sané and Tanguy Nianzou, are expected to start training after their two-week holiday.

“It is conceivable that they will join the cyber training,” Flick said at a media event on Monday morning. As before the restart of the Bundesliga, the training sessions will be implemented virtually at the beginning, as the players will first have to go into short quarantine after their vacation and COVID-19 tests.

However, the coach attaches great importance to a breather for his team. “The players have time to take a deep breath now and recover mentally,” emphasized Flick.

Süle does not go on vacation
However, a player voluntarily waives days off. Central defender Niklas Süle does not take a vacation, but continues to train individually. This is what the international player himself wanted, explained Flick. Süle had only recently become fully fit again after his serious knee injury.

Flick also explained the further training schedule. “The first week is completely free, after that the players get a moderate training plan from fitness coach Thomas Broich,” he added. After that, cyber-training and then the team preparation for the round of sixteen in the premier league will take place.
