Arsenal coach teases against Özil

Arsenal FC’s current upward trend is without the midfield stars Özil and Guendouzi. Mikel Arteta criticises the lack of commitment of both players.

After a rather mixed season for Arsenal FC, the Gunners have been bursting with confidence in their last four games and have scored 12 points in the last four. With that performance, they can even dream of Europe this year.

But this success is not based on the efforts of midfielders Mesut Özil and Matteo Guendouzi. The latter has not been used in the last four games, whereas Özil has not been on the pitch at all since the restart of the Premier League.

Arteta criticizes missing stake
When asked at the press conference why the two players would not play, Arsenal coach Arteta replied: “I will use any player who is willing to jump on the boat.

Asked for an explanation for this metaphor, Arteta continued: “Players who accept the values we want to implement, players who are 100% committed to our culture and players who are willing to help each other, fight for each other and enjoy playing together.

That’s what Arteta means by “willing to jump on board”. The Arsenal coach seems to have his doubts about whether Özil and Guendouzi are sufficiently committed to the club and the team.

With a view to the upcoming match on Tuesday evening against Leicester City (Premier League: FC Arsenal – Leicester City on Tuesday from 9.15 p.m. on LIVETICKER), Arteta sticks to his opinion and confirms once again: “The situation is still the same as before. Whether the two midfield stars will get their chance again this season remains questionable with such critical statements.
