Two fan groups of the FC Bayern are said to have claimed to be the authors of the insulting posters against Dietmar Hopp. The “Club Number 12” is distancing itself.

The fan groups “Schickeria” and “Red Fanatic” are apparently the authors of the insulting banners in the Bayern Munich curve in the Bundesliga game against TSG Hoffenheim (6:0) last Saturday. This was reported by the Süddeutsche Zeitung. “Red Fanatic” has now confirmed its authorship.

The wording of their banners directed against Hoffenheim patron Dietmar Hopp was only chosen because Dortmund Ultras had been punished for the same, said a member of the SZ’s Schickeria. It also criticized the German Soccer Association. If one had factual discussions with the DFB, one would “starve to death on the outstretched arm”.

Club number 12 distances itself from banners
The “Red Fanatic” expressed itself similarly. One need not “share” the choice of words, which clearly referred to a similar, sanctioned Dortmund banner, a statement said. However, the grouping was “above all appalled by the undifferentiated and completely exaggerated reactions at all levels”. It was “simply feeble-minded” to compare a mere insult “with racially motivated acts”.

The “Club Number 12”, which sees itself as the umbrella organisation of the active Munich fan scene, had distanced itself from the banners. According to SZ, the three banners that had led to the first interruption of the game were from the “Schickeria”, the second action was from “Red Fanatic”. The Bayern announced hard consequences for participating fans.
