Some BVB fans were shocked by the 19-year-old’s fantastic debut, while most of them were at least pleasantly surprised.
Haaland itself cannot understand this astonishment. “I’ve been doing this all my life,” he told the British football magazine FourFourTwo. “It is what I always wanted to do and what I am doing now. I always knew I was a good player, but everything happened very quickly. I like that speed!”
Haaland feels “at home”
The fact that Haaland immediately made such an impact has to do with the fact that he felt at home in Dortmund right away. “I feel like at home”, revealed the Norwegian who moved into an apartment by Lake Phoenix. He really feels at home by the water, after all, he grew up in Bryne, 30 kilometres from Stavanger, as a child.
The club also helped him a lot: “I had a good feeling right away. The club helped me a lot and the start was fantastic. It’s not easy to get to a new place in the middle of a season.”
Haaland is actually really enthusiastic about the fans. He had of course heard about the “Yellow Wall” before, but he didn’t know that the fans were “so fantastic”.
The shooting star now has big plans with BVB. Success with the club is “the most important thing” for him. In any case, he does not regret his switch to the Black and Yellow in the winter: “I like the whole club, the history, the people and how the club is run. We decided that Dortmund is the best option and that has been confirmed.
