Premier League: New Corona Falls

In the third round of testing in the Premier League, people have again tested positive for COVID-19. This means that a total of twelve corona cases have been detected.

In the third round of mass testing in the Premier League, four more corona cases were detected.

According to the highest English soccer league on Wednesday, four people from three clubs tested positive for COVID-19. 1008 samples had been taken on Monday and Tuesday.

In the first two test series, eight corona cases had already been reported. Among them were defender Adrian Mariappa and two members of the “non-playing” club staff of Watford FC, as well as Ian Woan, deputy manager of Burnley FC.

League restart planned for 12 June
On Wednesday, the Premier League clubs had initially decided unanimously to resume contact training. The teams had already returned to the pitch with contactless small group training in phase one of the government plan.

In a final phase of the three-stage plan, the game will be restarted without spectators. The clubs are hoping for a restart on 12 June, provided the authorities give their approval.
