Callum Hudson-Odoi is the first player in the Premier League to be infected with the corona virus. Meanwhile, the duel with the Bayern is cancelled.

Second positive corona test in the Premier League.

As Chelsea FC announced early Friday morning, offensive player Callum Hudson-Odoi tested positive for COVID-19. The 19-year-old is thus the first Premier League player to be found infected with the novel corona virus.

The club said Hudson-Odoi showed symptoms of a mild cold on Monday morning, has not trained since then and is now in quarantine for 14 days following the positive test. But he is fine, Chelsea wrote in a statement.

Chelsea team must be quarantined
However, this also applied to all persons who had contact with him. Team colleagues, trainers and coaches must all be quarantined. All those who have not had close contact with the offensive player are to return to training in the next few days. Meanwhile, the return match between FC Bayern and the Blues, like all other Champions League and Europa League matches next week, has been cancelled.

Earlier, the infection of Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta had become known on Thursday evening. It is expected that a “significant” number of people, “including the entire squad and the first-team coaching team”, will also have to seal themselves off.
