Valencia: One third tested positive

FC Valencia publishes alarming figures: In the meantime, “35 percent” of those directly associated with the professional team have tested positive for the corona virus.

The number of people infected with the corona virus at the Spanish first division football team FC Valencia is growing steadily.

As the club announced on Monday evening, “35 percent” of those directly associated with the professional team have now tested positive for the Sars-CoV-2 virus.

The club refrained from a more precise definition. The squad of the first team consists of 25 professionals, plus the coaching staff, coaches and medical personnel. Each positive case had no symptoms and was treated medically in isolation.

Valencia had announced five positive cases on Sunday, and a sixth was added on Monday afternoon in the French defender Eliaquim Mangala.

Valencia lost last week in the second round of the Champions League round of 16 against Atalanta Bergamo (3-4). The Italians around Robin Gosens announced on Sunday that they would send their team into quarantine after the positive cases at Valencia.
