Fortuna Düsseldorf’s coach Uwe Rösler caused a sensation with his statements on an artificially created atmosphere in the stadium. Now the club is clearing up.

Coach Uwe Rösler wants to exhaust all means to prepare the team of Fortuna Düsseldorf in the best possible way for the ghost game on Friday against SC Paderborn, the bottom of the table. (Bundesliga: Fortuna Düsseldorf – SC Paderborn, Fr. from 20.30)

“We’re training in the arena on Thursday,” said Rösler, “we’ll play fan chants over the loudspeakers and see how the team reacts to them. The boys will then decide whether we’ll do it on Friday or not.

Fortuna relativizes Rösler’s statements
The statements of the 51-year-old caused a sensation. But now Fortuna Düsseldorf is relativizing the statements of her head coach via Twitter.

“To avoid further irritation, we would like to make it clear that Uwe Rösler’s statements regarding the ‘mood from the tape’ were meant more with a wink. We do not intend to create an ‘atmosphere’ via the loudspeakers! Wouldn’t be allowed anyway”, so the official statement of the club.

Anyway: The long-time England guest worker Rösler wants to “play through some scenarios” during the training without spectators. Football lives on emotionality. Especially in the home game, it is a disadvantage that no fans are allowed to be there,” explained the Fortuna coach.

There has to be “a lot of self-motivation”, after all, it’s all about keeping your class in the Bundesliga.
