Jadon Sancho and Achraf Hakimi are directly involved in more than half of Dortmund’s compulsory goals. How much longer can the dream couple continue to play for BVB?

Jadon Sancho and Achraf Hakimi showed again this weekend how important they are for BVB.

A co-production of the two wingsters ultimately led to the important 2-1 victory over fellow rival Borussia Mönchengladbach.

In the 71st minute, Sancho – who was exceptionally only substituted due to stomach problems – played the ball out to the right for Hakimi, who finally pushed into the long corner past Yann Sommer.

After the game Hakimi said: “I love playing together with Jadon. He cleared me very well and played the pass perfectly into the alley. I put the ball a little too far at first, but then fortunately I finished quite well.”BVB dream couple as life insuranceSancho and Hakimi keep BVB in the title race with this goal. The BVB dream team was directly involved in an incredible 53 of the 86 goals scored in Dortmund’s compulsory matches.

Hakimi, who played all 36 matches this season, scored his seventh goal in Gladbach and also has ten assists on his account. Sancho gave his 19th assist in the 34th game and also scored 17 goals.

How long will the fans of the Pott Club be able to cheer on the goals of their up-and-coming stars? Sancho, who turns 20 on 25 March, still has a contract until 2022, but is being courted by numerous top clubs. In contrast, 21-year-old Hakimi’s contract with Real Madrid expires after the season.

Can Dortmund really keep its two super-racers?

Sancho concentrates on Dortmund
BVB boss Hans-Joachim Watzke recently told BBC Sport when asked about Sancho: “It is not a question of money. We have enough money. We want to win titles. This team has a lot more potential with Jadon than without Jadon.”

The fact is, a number of top clubs are after the England jewel, but BVB has not yet come up with a concrete offer. From the direct BVB environment it can be heard that they are only prepared to talk about a sum of around 150 million euros. According to SPORT1 information, the player (“I concentrate on my team. I don’t look at all of these things”) has not yet deposited any change intentions with the club.

Watzke: “It is still unclear what will happen. We maintain a confidential relationship with his advisors and will discuss it. I think Jadon has the feeling that our club has a good future. I don’t think he wants to leave us.”

And what is the status of Hakimi? The Moroccan, who recently became father to a son, will return to Real Madrid this summer. BVB, however, has a matching right. In other words, if the “royals” really want to sell the offensively strong full-back, they must inform BVB of every offer they receive for the player and have the Bundesliga runners-up follow suit.
