Will the round of sixteen between Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund on March 11th fall victim to the corona virus for the time being?

The Defence and Ministerial Council in France decided on Saturday that, due to the danger of infection by the coronavirus, major events involving more than 5,000 people in France are banned for the time being.

PSG game without handshakes
PSG nevertheless played Dijon (4-0) at the weekend, but only 75 minutes before kick-off the club announced that the match would be played. For safety reasons, no run-in children and no handshakes were used. However, the half-marathon through the Seine metropolis, for example, was cancelled due to the virus.

In Italy, several games were cancelled over the weekend due to the virus, including the top duel between Juventus Turin and Inter Milan. Initially, there were considerations to play the games without an audience before the cancellation was announced. Numerous sporting events have already fallen victim to the coronavirus.

But a cancellation of a Champions League match would be another step forward. However, it would also put a lot of pressure on UEFA, with the quarter-final draw to be held just a week later.
