After his clear victory in the first round of the Champions League first round at Chelsea FC, the Bayern defender posted a picture of himself on Instagram, holding a sign in the air saying “London is always worth a visit”, a reference to his club’s good record in the English capital. Before the 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge, the Munich side had already won 7-2 away at Tottenham Hotspur in the group stage, and they have also been a regular sight at Arsenal FC in recent years. Since Bôateng joined FC Bayern in 2011, the record-breaking champions have celebrated a total of five wins in London, with just one defeat.
