Manchester City will be excluded from the UEFA Champions League for two years. Coach Guardiola believes in the innocence of City and is basing his decision on evidence.

It’s been a bummer in European club football.

It is now barely two weeks since UEFA announced the exclusion of Manchester City for the next two Champions League seasons. One person who is not satisfied with this ruling is Pep Guardiola.

Ahead of the Champions League match at Real Madrid on Wednesday (Champions League: Real Madrid – Manchester City), the Catalan made his comments at the press conference on the punishment for his team and made it clear that he believes in the innocence of the Sheikh Club. According to the press conference, those responsible have presented him with “irrefutable evidence” of the team’s innocence.

Guardiola trusts ManCity leadership
“We have long been under suspicion. We have the right to appeal and I trust the people in my club,” Guardiola said.

“They explained the reasons and showed me arguments and evidence. We are optimistic that we will play in the Champions League next season if we deserve it. If it doesn’t happen, we’ll have to accept that and move on,” the star coach continued.

“My confidence is in the club. I know them. We’ll see what happens in the appeal process before the CAS.”
