Liverpool FC have averted their first defeat of this Premier League season.

Against West Ham United, the Reds scored a 3-2 win at home on Anfield Road after trailing 2-1.

Jürgen Klopp’s team are thus still unbeaten after 27 matchdays and have so far only lost once in a 1-1 draw with Manchester United in October. The last Premier League defeat was on 3 January 2019 (2-1 at Manchester City)

In the duel with the relegation-threatened West Ham for former one-two striker Sébastien Haller, the Reds experienced an extremely arduous evening.

Issa Diop and Pablo Fornals (12, 54) had turned the early lead by Georgino Wijnaldum (9) in favour of the Hammers, before Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané Liverpool took the win (68, 81).

As a result, West Ham are now relegated to 18th place on 24 points and have been unsuccessful in the Premier League for seven games. For Liverpool, however, it is the 18th win in a row, with the Reds leading the table with a 22-point advantage.
