Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is enthusiastic about Hansi Flick – the CEO of FC Bayern puts the coach on a par with former coaching stars.
CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has praised Hansi Flick to the skies and compared the football under the current coach with its successful predecessor at record champions Bayern Munich.
“He has a clear match plan. The team has the same tactical focus as Louis van Gaal, Jupp Heynckes or Pep Guardiola,” Rummenigge told the kicker.
Flick had moved to the front row at the beginning of November with the heavily faltering defending champion as successor to Niko Kovac.
Much praise for Flick – but no new contract yet
Since then, the Munich team has found its way back to “offensive, dominant ball possession football”: “An important step was that with the coach Hansi Flick, the FC Bayern philosophy came back into the team.
The 54-year-old, Rummenigge continues, has “an empathic connection with the team and does very well in public. It is not yet certain whether the Munich team will continue to work with Flick beyond the summer.
The former co-coach of national team coach Joachim Löw had repeatedly stressed that he could imagine remaining as head coach after the end of the season.
