The game began with a shock moment for Barca. Jordi Alba (22.) injured himself without any opponent and had to be substituted. For him came Júnior Firpo. After a short pressure phase from Getafe, including a denied goal after video evidence, Barca found back on track.
Griezmann and Roberto ensure home victory
Antoine Griezmann (34th) took the lead after a wonderful pass from Lionel Messi. Before the break Sergi Roberto (40.) increased his lead. But Getafe did not give up, remained dangerous especially after counterattacks and was caught by Ángel (66).
Six minutes later, Getafe had a great chance to equalise, but Marc-André ter Stegen ruined it with several sensational reflexes.
Barca managed to save the narrow lead over time. Despite the three points, Real Madrid remain the leader in Spain. Barca and Real each have 52 points, but the Real have the better goal difference. Behind them is Getafe with 42 points. (Table La Liga)
