Tottenham coach Jose Mourinho is rather pessimistic about a prognosis for the return of his star striker Harry Kane after his thigh operation. Asked about the 26-year-old’s premature return, Mourinho said at a press conference that there was no news: “We expect him to be out of the game until mid-April, late April, May, next season. I don’t know.”
The goalscorer himself had returned on Saturday with a photo showing him getting out of hospital with his thumb up, but Kane had suffered a tendon injury to his left thigh in his side’s 1-0 defeat at Southampton FC on 1 January and later left the stadium on crutches. The Spurs will meet Bundesliga leaders RB Leipzig in the last sixteen of the Champions League on 19 February and 10 March.
