Atletico fends off Barca attack

FC Barcelona continues its success in the Spanish championship without Lionel Messi. But Atletico Madrid continues to reign supreme after a clear victory.

FC Barcelona has continued its success in La Liga. The team led by the German national goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen won 2-0 (1-0) in the penultimate league match for Elche and celebrated the fourth consecutive league victory. (La Liga: schedule and results)

Frenkie de Jong (39th) and Riqui Puig (89th), who had just been substituted, scored the goals and made Barca third with 37 points, only three points behind the archrival Real Madrid.

Messi is missing due to dismissal at the Supercup
