The game between Paris Saint-Germain and Basaksehir is interrupted. The reason is a racist incident. The game will continue on Wednesday.

A racism incident shakes the Champions League.

In the match between Paris Saint-Germain and Istanbul Basaksehir, Romanian referee Ovidiu Hategan showed Istanbul assistant coach Pierre Achille Webó the red card in a confusing situation.

The word “Negro” is said to have been used in this process, as the Istanbul officials loudly accused the Romanian referee team of how clearly they heard about the external microphones.

The Fourth Official Sebastian Coltescu is said to have used the word. As a result, it was heard how the referee team tried to explain that Coltescu had used the Romanian word for blacks (“negru”) and not the “N-word”.

playing The 14th minute of the game preceded Presnel Kimpembe fouling Istanbul’s Fredrik Gulbrandsen. The Basaksehir Bank then protested violently. Hategan was then alerted by Coltescu to show the Red Card to one of the guests’ caregivers. After the referee asked the Fourth Official to name the person, Coltescu answered “ala negru” according to his own testimony.

Webó and ex-Bundesliga professional Demba Ba were then heard loudly pointing out that the referees would not have said “the white man” to a white player to identify him.

The guests refused to play and went into the cabin angrily. PSG’s actors and leaders showed solidarity and applauded. When walking into the cabin, voices like “we can’t accept that” and “you can’t say Negro” were heard.
