Raúl Jiménez is still in hospital after his serious head injury. The Wolves star is now speaking for the first time.

Two days after the bad clash with David Luiz, Raúl Jiménez spoke for the first time.

The Mexican, who suffered a skull fracture on Sunday in the 2-1 victory of his Wolverhampton Wanderers at FC Arsenal in the air duel with Luiz, thanked for the support and spoke of an early comeback.

“Thank you very much for the supporting messages. I am still under observation and hope to be able to return to the field soon, “Jiménez said via Twitter.

Vardy and Sterling wish Jiménez well

On the Wolves website, fans have the opportunity to send recovery wishes directly to the injured attacker.

Other Premier League stars had already spoken out on Twitter. “I wish you a speedy recovery, Raúl. The whole football family is with you, “wrote Jamie Vardy of Leicester City.

ManCity striker Raheem Sterling wrote under the post of the Wolves after the successful operation: “Good to hear. I wish you a speedy recovery, brother, the game needs you.”

Violent clash between Luiz and Jiménez

Jiménez collided violently with Luiz after a corner in a header game in the early stages of the match. Both players remained motionless at first.

The quickly rushed paramedics took care of the injured. Still in the field Jiménez was supplied with oxygen. On a stretcher, the 29-year-old was transported away after minutes of treatment and immediately taken to the hospital. Jiménez was operated on that night. Luiz suffered a laceration in the collision and continued to play with a head bandage until the half-time break.
