Julian Nagelsmann manages a coup against Atlético Madrid with RB Leipzig. After the victory he indirectly accuses his coach colleague Diego Simeone of a misstep.

Leipzig’s coach Julian Nagelsmann managed a real masterpiece against his coach colleague Diego Simeone.

Through poisonous duels and passionate fighting, his team defeated the – actually – ripped-off Atlético Madrid in a 2-1 victory with their own weapons. It was also an emotional experience on the sidelines.

Simeone drove his team as passionately as ever, demanding yellow cards and giving hectic instructions. “I’m not going to look over there that often, otherwise I’ll freak out,” Nagelsmann had already declared before the quarter-finals of the Champions League in Lisbon.

However, the two coaches did not clash during the match. “It was all right and except for halftime it was quiet and without any contact points,” said the RB coach after the final whistle at Sky.

But what did Nagelsmann mean by his insinuation?

Action of Simeone remains hidden from cameras

“I won’t tell you in detail, you might see it on some cameras,” the 33-year-old evaded. “That’s when he showed that he’s a winner and he always wants to win. I wouldn’t have done it, but that’s something everyone has to decide for themselves.”
