Kevin de Bruyne of Manchester City sets an Arsenal legend’s assist record and also wins the Playmaker Award. Leicesters Vardy wins the goalscoring crown.

Kevin de Bruyne has crowned his top performances in the recently completed Premier League season with a new record.

Faced with 20 assists, the 29-year-old from Manchester City set Thierry Henry’s previous record. The former Arsenal FC superstar had provided as many assists as the Belgian in the 2002/03 season.

The former Wolfsburg de Bruyne also scored 13 goals this season – the second time since 2018 that he has won the league’s Playmaker Award.

But that’s not all: City team-mate and goalkeeper Ederson was awarded the “Golden Glove Award” for 16 games without conceding a goal.

Vardy wins goalscoring crown
The top scorer, with 23 goals, was Jamie Vardy, the oldest player in the Premier League at 33.

Second place went to Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who scored 22 goals in the season finale against relegated FC Watford (3-2), scoring twice.

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers was delighted for his goalscorer and underlined once again how important Vardy is to Leicester: “It’s a wonderful honour, without his goals and quality we wouldn’t be where we are now.
