Roberto Firmino is at the forefront of Liverpool FC’s goal-hungry offensive. But it is only on Thursday that he scores a cathartic goal.

Roberto Firmino finally celebrated redemption on Wednesday.

In Liverpool FC’s 5-3 win over Chelsea FC on the penultimate day of play, Firmino scored a 4-1 aggregate winner.

The Brazilian’s ninth goal of the season was a very special one. For the first time in the Premier League, the striker scored at home on Anfield Road, preventing the incredible statistics of a season without home goals.

Firmino long hapless
Liverpool had won 17 games at home by Thursday, scoring 47 goals in the process. Firmino scored over 50 times without success.

However, coach Jürgen Klopp had never made a big issue of it.

“We don’t think about it, it doesn’t matter who scores. We need Bobbie for other things, we need him in rooms, we need him as a link,” Klopp said last.

Firmino ends several months of slack
In addition, the German coach announced: “He will score, there is no doubt at all.”

And he was right. Chelsea finally got their 54th shot in one game.

Firmino thus ended another slump: It was his first league goal ever since January 23rd. At the end of the game, even the former Hoffenheim player could cheer freely when the cup was handed over to the champion.
