What’s wrong with Joao Félix?

Joao Félix still hasn’t really arrived one year after his move to Atlético Madrid. Coach Diego Simeone is asking for patience with his jewel.

Joao Félix is currently not living up to his name.

Felix means “the lucky one” translated into German. And the 20-year-old Portuguese in the service of Atlético Madrid does not really seem happy at the moment. At least, if the pictures from last Friday are to be believed.

When he was substituted against RCD Mallorca (again) prematurely, he was anything but motionless. He shuffled off the pitch and then took out his frustration on a ball that he boxed onto the stands.

The result should not have been the cause of the highly praised prodigy’s bad mood, after all, the Rojiblancos were 2-0 up at the time, winning the game 3-0 in the end. After Fèlix had previously been treated for an ankle, coach Diego Simeone decided to take his superstar off the field after just 53 minutes. Simeone used the wound to explain why he did not nominate Félix for the Tuesday match at Celta Vigo (1-1).

Félix substituted again
Félix himself must have struggled with his own performance. While his attacking partner Àlvaro Morata tied a double, Felix left two good opportunities behind and again showed a weak performance.

And it was not the first time that the attacking player had to leave the field early. No other player in the Madrilenian squad was replaced as often as last summer’s king transfer. Portugal’s forward hopes are not likely to taste that much either.
