Jadon Sancho moved from Manchester City to Borussia Dortmund three years ago. City Coach Pep Guardiola is certain: He will not go the other way around.

Remarkably clear transfer refusal: Pep Guardiola, coach of Manchester City, does not expect Jadon Sancho of Borussia Dortmund to be an option for his club.

“He has decided to leave. So why would he decide to come back,” Guardiola replied at a press conference to the question of whether the BVB goalscorer was a possible replacement for Leroy Sané.

Winger Sané is known to be close to completing his transfer to Guardiola’s former club FC Bayern, Sancho would be a high quality replacement – but the Catalan coach says he does not believe a deal is possible: “When he decided to go to Dortmund, he did not do so, only to decide to come back two years later. That would make no sense. He didn’t want to be here anymore, so he won’t want to come back.”

BVB won’t give up Jadon Sancho
Born in London, Sancho was active in the ManCity youth team between 2015 and 2017 before being drawn into the Bundesliga. His contract in Dortmund runs until 2022, but there has been repeated speculation about an early sale.

“I don’t think that’s going to happen,” he said on Sunday. “If Jadon comes up to us and says I want to leave, which hasn’t been the case so far, and a club comes forward and pays a corresponding fee, then we need to discuss it. But the Dortmund’s preference is clear: “We don’t want to let him go.”
