Jérôme Boateng raved in high tones about Bayern coach Hansi Flick, who brought back the good mood. And he betrays his best Bavarian friend.
Jérôme Boateng has made an impressive return to FC Bayern.
After the central defender was offered a change in summer 2019, the 2014 world champions took advantage of Niklas Süle’s injury to secure a regular place.
In the process, he also left newcomer Lucas Hernández, who had been struggling with injuries, behind him. Hansi Flick, who took over from Niko Kovac in November, played a major role in Boateng’s resurrection.
“Ever since Hansi Flick became coach, you just feel good in training and in everything, the fun and good spirits are back,” Boateng said in a fan talk of the Bavarians. This probably also means: Under Kovac, the mood before was not the best.
Flick can “get louder sometimes”
Flick and Boateng had already worked together for the German national team before their time together at FC Bayern.
“Hansi is very special and special, otherwise he wouldn’t have been so successful with the team,” Boateng added: “He gives us an extremely high level of trust, every single one of us. He wants to improve everyone and he does that. He gives us an incredible amount of self-confidence.”
Flick “can get louder, which is normal, but he gives the team an incredible amount of self-confidence and a clear plan for every game.
