Real Madrid replace FC Barcelona at the top of the Primera Division. Three controversial scenes have been lost in favour of the royals.

Spanish record champions Real Madrid have taken advantage of the slip-up by defending champions FC Barcelona to take the lead in the Primera Division.

Coach Zinedine Zidane’s side won 2-1 (0-0) in the second half against European League aspirants Real Sociedad San Sebastian after a second-half performance boost and, thanks to the direct comparison they won, took the lead from their closest rivals on points.

Barcelona had already failed to go beyond a 0-0 draw with FC Sevilla on Friday.

Real goals verified by video evidence
Sergio Ramos (50th) by penalty kick and Karim Benzema (70th) ensured the third Real victory in the third game after the restart. However, both the penalty kick and the goal scored by Benzema were controversial and had to be verified with the video evidence.

While the penalty kick decision was rightly stopped, as there was probably a slight contact and therefore definitely no clear wrong decision, there were quite a few who watched a handball at Benzema’s ball acceptance.

Not so the video referees, which is why the goal was recognized. In addition, a goal scored by the visitors was denied recognition because a Real Sociedad Real keeper Thibaut Cortouis player was said to have obstructed the view.

The former Dortmund player Mikel Merino only managed to score the second goal (83.).
