Paderborn’s coach Steffen Baumgart shows a fighting spirit before the duel with Borussia Dortmund. To keep his place in the class, the bottom of the table needs a miracle.

Coach Steffen Baumgart of SC Paderborn will start the match against Borussia Dortmund on Sunday (18.00 hrs) with a fighting spirit despite the bad starting position in the relegation battle.

“Our tabular situation has not changed, but we are still in it. And we want to show that against BVB. We’ll keep going,” said the 48-year-old.

BVB have developed well, said Baumgart and added: “They are very stable. They play completely forward and are capable of scoring goals from any situation.”

Klaus Gjasula suspended
Nevertheless, the East Westphalians’ line of approach is clear: “We want to play boldly, as we did in the first leg,” Baumgart emphasised. In November, the SCP had won a 3:3 at BVB.

Captain Klaus Gjasula will not be able to help with the mammoth task on Sunday. The 30-year-old saw his 15th yellow card in Augsburg (0:0) and is therefore suspended.
