After the 0:1 home defeat against the Bavarians, the Dortmunders can almost forget about the championship.
“Seven points, six games – that is brutally difficult,” says coach Lucien Favre. And midfield star Emre Can added: “We have to be realistic. Bavaria are seven points ahead of us. If nothing else happens, Bayern will unfortunately be champions.”
BVB will probably stay untitled
BVB will probably not be able to win any more titles after the end of the Cup and the Champions League. And again the question arises in Dortmund: Can Favre simply not win any titles?

When asked about Sky, he defiantly said: “They’ve been saying that for months. I don’t read the papers. I know how to do it and I will talk about it in a few weeks. I’ll stay calm and trust myself.”
Matthew: Thought Kovac was coming
What does Favre want to talk about in a few weeks? Is he gonna announce his early exit? His contract with the BVB actually runs until 2021. Sky expert Lothar Matthaeus said in the studio: “I immediately thought: Favre goes, Niko Kovac comes.”
The BVB bosses had actually given away the title before the season, but in winter Hans-Joachim Watzke made it clear once again: “We will try everything for it.”
Twice this season Favre was already on the verge of retirement. In November, after the 4-0 defeat in the first leg in Munich and the 3-1 draw in Barcelona, and in February after the Cup out in Bremen (3-2) and the 4-3 draw in Leverkusen. Again and again Favre pulled his head out of the noose.
