The BVB receives FC Bayern for what may be the decisive “German Clasico” of the Bundesliga. Will Mats Hummels be fit in time? The BVB-PK to read up on.

It’s time!

On Tuesday there will be a duel of the duels in the Bundesliga. The “German Clasico” is coming up, the BVB will receive FC Bayern on the 28th matchday.

The Dortmunders are burning for revenge in their home Signal Iduna Park for the 0:4 clap in the first leg. But it’s even more important: Currently, only four points separate the leaders of the standings, Bayern, and their pursuers Dortmund. The direct duel could therefore lead to a preliminary decision in the championship. For BVB in particular, the motto is: Losing is forbidden.

Both teams have returned from the Corona break with two wins. However, BVB coach Lucien Favre has some staff worries. Axel Witsel is questionable, and captain Marco Reus also finds the game too early. There is also a question mark over head of defence Mats Hummels, who will have to be replaced at half-time in the 2-0 win over VfL Wolfsburg.

Favre gave the all-clear to the former Munich player, saying that he was “99 percent” in the game. Witsel could also be in the squad. The virtual press conference of the BVB to read up.
