Jürgen Klopp would consider a season break of the Premier League without a title “personally unfair”. Nevertheless, he said, there were currently “much more important issues than football”.

Team manager Jürgen Klopp of sovereign league leader FC Liverpool would find a season break in England “personally unfair” if no championship title were to be awarded in the process.

“We are first in the home standings, we are first in the away standings. It’s a season in which we should become champions,” Klopp said in the DFB Academy’s leadership talk. With an early end without a score, “I’d stumble,” the 52-year-old admitted.

Klopp also explained: “The discussion arose that people wanted to declare the season null and void. So you thought: Huh? We played 76 percent of the season and they just want to delete the thing? That would have been something that I would personally find personally unfair, humanly speaking, to simply say that it didn’t happen. We’ll take last year’s season and so on.”

Liverpool are only two wins short…
However, the former Borussia Dortmund champion coach also stressed that in times of Corona there are much more important issues than football. “A lot of people have really big problems. Dealing with the crisis is the most important thing”, said Klopp: “But that does not mean that certain things are not important at all, just because they are less important”.
