Urs Fischer comments on Neven Subotic’s sharp criticism of the restart of the Bundesliga. The Union Berlin coach has a clear opinion on the matter.

Coach Urs Fischer of 1 FC Union Berlin understands professional Neven Subotic’s criticism of the re-start of the Bundesliga during the Corona crisis.

“I also believe that other opinions should be allowed. Neven has never given me the impression, nor has he ever expressed himself so clearly that he doesn’t feel like it,” said the Swiss Fischer in an interview with the television station RBB: “Neven also feels like playing against the Bavarians on Sunday evening.

Subotic, who was also in the service of Borussia Dortmund for a long time, had previously expressed scepticism about the season restart on the British BBC: “I am critical of how it was all managed, but understand that it is a difficult situation for everyone”.

Fischer: Subotic has no problem with restart
Defender Subotic had also openly criticised what he saw as the weak position of football professionals as employees. In the Italian or English league, the players’ association was a serious authority. The 31-year-old told Deutschlandfunk radio that Germany was disappointed. To the best of his knowledge, there had been no influence of players or a representative authority in the decisions about the resumption of play.

Fischer does not believe, however, that Subotic basically has a problem with the restart. “‘Doesn’t like him’, I find a bit exaggerated. But I do think that everyone sees it a little differently somewhere,” said Fischer, who will receive FC Bayern with the Köpenickers on Sunday (18:00).
