Hundreds of Manchester City fans have celebrated outside the stadium after the “couch championship”. Partial spectators will be allowed in the last match.

Hundreds of fans of English soccer champions Manchester City gathered for celebrations outside the stadium on Tuesday after the “couch championship”.

Supporters of the Skyblues led by team manager Pep Guardiola and international Ilkay Gündogan lit blue flares, waved flags and happily sang fan chants after winning their seventh championship.

The club, meanwhile, unveiled a huge light blue banner on the outside of the arena that read “CHAMPIONS,” with a picture of the celebrating team below it. “This has been a season,” team manager Pep Guardiola said with relief, “and a Premier League title like no other. This was the hardest.”

Up to 10,000 City fans at final home game.

Due to the relaxation of Corona regulations in England, up to 10,000 City fans will be at the stadium for the final home game against Everton on May 23 when the team lifts the trophy.

City benefited from city rivals Manchester United’s 2-1 (1-1) defeat to Leicester City on Tuesday to celebrate their third title in the last four years. The Champions League finalist can no longer be knocked off the top of the table by United’s defeat three matchdays before the end of the season.
