The Supervisory Committee of the German Football Association (DFB) has opened an investigation against Santiago Ascacibar of the Bundesliga team Hertha BSC. The Argentinian is said to have insulted his opponent Nico Schlotterbeck in the capital derby near Union last Sunday.
Ascacibar had seen the Yellow Card in the 78th minute for a foul at Schlotterbeck, as a result of which a clear verbal derailment of Ascacibar could be heard via the external microphones. Referee Sascha Stegemann had not heard the Hertha player’s statement.
