Fritz Eckenga has been loyal to Borussia Dortmund forever – and does not want to be sold by the club as stupid. The trigger is the season ticket control.

When Friedhelm “Fritz” Eckenga was six years old, he discovered his great love with BVB.

But a lot has changed since then. In kicker, the German cabaret artist, freelance author, columnist in radio and press as well as long-time member of the rock theatre ensemble N8chtsSchicht now makes a claim to his BVB: He does not want to be sold for stupid.

Eckenga: “Hey guys, that’s enough.”
Permanent ticket holder Eckenga received a message from BVB during the lockdown about the permanent ticket scheme and thought: “Hey guys, that’s enough.”

When the fans were entitled to reimbursement of a large amount, the club announced that there were various ways to handle the money, Eckenga explains in the kicker.

There was an option to leave the excess amount for the next season ticket, to donate the amount for a good cause or to have everything refunded.

And then came the sentence that made Eckenga so angry: There would be no disadvantages.

“I found such an incredible audacity and insolence that it was even mentioned that there were no disadvantages to be feared as a result,” Eckenga is angry.

That’s why the Dortmund fan laughed loudly
That’s why he said, “Okay, then I’d like the money.” But that’s not enough.

“When I heard that the entire professional operation and management with a big solidarity action renounced ten percent of their revenue because they had a social responsibility towards the employees of BVB, I had to laugh loudly, “says the BVB fan.

According to Eckenga, it shouldn’t have been a problem that the highly-paid staff might have completely renounced money for six months: “Then this thing would have been financed and no applications would have to be made
