Angelino from RB Leipzig is grateful to his coach Julian Nagelsmann. This gave him the confidence – in contrast to Pep Guardiola.

Wing flasher Angelino from the German football league RB Leipzig sees a decisive difference between his coach Julian Nagelsmann and his ex-coach Pep Guardiola.

“Someone gave me the confidence and set me up. And not the other, “said the Spaniard on Wednesday. The Left Defender had been loaned from Manchester City to Leipzig in early 2020, after he had barely played for Guardiola.

Under Nagelsmann, Angelino developed into an absolute regular player at RB, which is why the club firmly committed him beyond the summer thanks to a purchase obligation. In 31 competitive matches, the 24-year-old scored eight goals in the current season and placed eleven more on the table. He is especially grateful to his coach for this. “We have a good relationship,” says Angelino: “He has given me a huge boost for my career.”

Angelino trusts Nagelsmann a lot

But with too much melancholy he didn’t want to look back on his time in Manchester: “I learned a lot from Pep, on the other hand I didn’t play as much as I wanted.”

However, his current coach Nagelsmann, who according to the English telegraph Tottenham Hotspur is said to be interested in, predicted a steep career. “He trains a very good team, imagine what he can do with an even better team,” says Angelino: “He has a long career ahead of him.”
