Jesse Marsch talks about Borussia Mönchengladbach’s alleged interest and chooses clear words. A back door still remains open.

Marco Rose is gone in the summer, the successor has not yet been decided.

But the search for coaches at Borussia Mönchengladbach is in full swing, as Max Eberl reported on Sunday: “Now it’s time to find the coach who exactly fits this team.”Several names are traded, including Jesse Marsch’s.

The American currently works at RB Salzburg, from where Rose came to Gladbach. Now the RB coach has commented on the ongoing rumours about his person.

“I have not heard from Gladbach and I would like to make it quite clear that my focus is 100% on the team here,” said the 47-year-old at Sky, adding: “The door is closed. I work here in Salzburg – period.” Until the end of the season, he will”surely have no contact with another club”.

That would actually get the subject off the table if March hadn’t left a back door open.

After all, the Salzburg coach made a significant restriction in his plain text statement. This applies “in any case until the end of the season, then we have to consider what the next steps are.” Before the Rose decision, he had been quite enthusiastic about moving to the Bundesliga.

Marsch has been head coach in Salzburg since 2019.
