Even a foul meter awarded by Timo Werner did not prevent Chelsea from entering the FA Cup eighth final.

A foul meter awarded by international Timo Werner did not prevent Chelsea from entering the FA Cup eighth final.

Despite Werner’s mistake against Luton Town, the Blues won the 4th round undisturbed 3-1 (2-1). Matchwinner was Tammy Abraham with a three-pack (11th/17th/74th).

Werner had the chance to make the result even clearer in the final phase after a foul against himself, but failed with his unscored shot at goalkeeper Simon Sluga (86th). The former Stuttgarter and Leipziger had initiated the lead. In the next round, the blues have to go to second division FC Barnsley (9 or 10 February).

Werner was the only German in the Chelsea starting eleven and played through. Kai Havertz was replaced (77.), Antonio Rüdiger sat on the bench for 90 minutes. Jordan Clark (30th) had in the meantime shortened for the outsider.
