Coach Frank Lampard is past Chelsea FC. This clears the way for the blues to be taken over by EX-PSG coach Thomas Tuchel.

FC Chelsea split from manager Frank Lampard.

“It was a very difficult decision that neither club owners (Roman Abramovich, editor’s note) nor the management made lightly,” the blues press release said. “However, the recent results and performances have not met the expectations of the club, which is now in the middle of the league table without a clear perspective of sustainable improvement.”

Abramovich:” Lampard an important icon of Chelsea FC ”
Abramovich was quoted in the letter that the decision was also difficult because “I have an excellent relationship with Frank and the greatest respect for him”. Lampard was a “highly integrated man with perfect work attitude”. But the current circumstances would have suggested a change of coach.

“On behalf of the entire club, the club management and also personally, I would like to thank Frank for his work as head coach and wish him every success in the future,” Abramowitsch continued. “He is an important icon of Chelsea FC and nothing will change that.” He will always be welcome at Stamford Bridge.”

According to Sky and The Athletic, the German coach Thomas Tuchel is a big favourite for the successor. This had to go Christmas Eve at Paris Saint-Germain. Because his contract was terminated, he would be available immediately and free of charge. According to information from the sports picture, Tuchel is already in London and is to be officially presented after the Monday training.

The Athletic also reports that Ralf Rangnick has declined an offer from Chelsea FC to act as interim coach.

Lampard doesn’t track Werner and Havertz
Lampard has been increasingly under criticism in recent weeks and has been relegated to ninth place in the Premier League with the blues. In his supposedly last game he celebrated a victory in the FA Cup. The entry into the quarter-finals in a duel with the second division player Luton Town apparently did not save his job.
