Decision Time in the Champions League!

Already this week, some teams can solve their ticket for the knockout phase, while others are already threatened with the end.

We explain what it looks like in each group.

Group A
Group A is led by FC Bayern München with nine points. Further places are followed by Atlético Madrid (4), locomotive Moscow (2) and RB Salzburg (1).

There are two scenarios in which the Bavarians qualify prematurely for the knockout phase. First, Bavaria wins against Salzburg, second, Bavaria plays draw and locomotive does not win against Atlético.

Group B
Group B is also led by a German team. Borussia Mönchengladbach currently ranks first ahead of Schachtar Donezk (4), Real Madrid (4) and Inter Milan (2) with five points.

None of these teams will be able to perfect or eliminate their entry into the quarter-finals.

Group C
With three wins from three games, Manchester City is ahead of Porto (6), Olympiakos Piraeus (3) and Olympique Marseille (0) at the top of Group C.

The Citizens already have a point against Olympiakos to qualify for the quarter-finals, whereas Marseille would have no chance of reaching the knockout stage if defeated.

Group D is dominated by Liverpool FC, which is still without losing points. Second is Ajax Amsterdam (4), third Atalanta Bergamo (4) and fourth is Midtjylland (0).

As with FC Bayern, the Reds have two scenarios in which the national champion would qualify for the knockout stage prematurely. First, Liverpool beats Atalanta, second, Liverpool plays draws and Ajax does not beat Midtjylland.

For the league’s last Midtjylland, losing is prohibited. For defeat would be synonymous with the end.
