In the Premier League, hardly any players were tested for doping for months. Examinations were reduced to a minimum due to

corona. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, doping tests in English football almost came to a standstill during the first lockdown.

Due to logistical problems in implementation, only 24 of the 500 Premier League players tested in the 100 days between March 10 and June 17. This is reported by The Athletic website. On average, this was around one player every four days.

The odds were much lower in the three leagues below the Premier League. Of the estimated 1800 players, only 54 were tested.
