FC Barcelona simply does not come to rest. The Spanish top club can’t get rid of its financial problems – and now it’s off to business with

the players again. Even in the elite of European football, no club is spared the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.

One club hit particularly hard by the crisis is FC Barcelona. According to Mundo deportivo, the vice champion from La Liga lost a good 200 million euros in revenue in the last season. No wonder the club management has to ask their superstars once again for a salary

waiver. However, the players are still fighting against this new wage cut, the fronts are hardened. Players and bosses cannot even agree on the framework within which a possible salary waiver could be negotiated. As Marca reports, the professionals want to discuss the money issue directly with the management level – excluding the remaining employees of the association.

Barca Director is putting stars in his conscience!

The board floor has other plans: it wants to call all employees to the negotiating table, but only grant the players one seat among the ten representatives of the employees. Although they account for more than 90 percent of the total salary volume.

“It must be the result of all groups and departments,” wrote Gemma Biosca, Director of Human Resources, in a letter to the players present to Marca. There is no reason for separate negotiations: “The level of your remuneration can only be guaranteed in a scenario full of economic efficiency, as you know.”
