Youssoufa Moukoko can hope to play in the Champions League at Borussia Dortmund. Michael Zorc confirms corresponding plans.

Borussia Dortmund’s forward Youssoufa Moukoko (15) could be the youngest player in the history of the Champions League this season.

“We will register him via the B-list,” said sports director Michael Zorc of the Bild-Zeitung. Moukoko was missing in the first BVB bid.

Background: 25 players are allowed to register Champions League participants for the 2020/21 season (A-list), plus any number on a B-list: It is intended for players born on or after 1 January 1999 who were eligible to play for the club for at least two consecutive years between their 15th birthday and the date of their registration with UEFA.

As soon as Moukoko is 16 years old, he would theoretically be a candidate for the B list. And on this, it can also be supplemented at short notice.

The decisive sentence in the UEFA Statutes: “Each club can register an unlimited number of players on List B during the season. The list must arrive no later than midnight (CET) the day before the match in question.”
