Ronald Koeman puts Antoine Griezmann in the wrong position at FC Barcelona, according to France’s national coach Didier

Deschamps. Despite the theatre around Lionel Messi, FC Barcelona got off to a good start in preparation.

After three games, the Catalans have scored seven points and already scored eight goals – best score in La Liga.

However, a star is waiting for a success experience: Antoine Griezmann is still without a goal and assistant.

“I’ll talk to him. I’m sure he’s not happy with his situation,” said French coach Didier Deschamps on Tuesday. This week, the World Champion will compete in a friendly against Ukraine and in the Nations League against Portugal.

Griezmann currently plays on the right side of Barca, because Koeman sees him best there.

“Antoine also needs to adapt,” said Deschamps, who sees the 29-year-old “at the heart of the game when he’s often at the ball” most effectively.

“In this position, he can also help the midfield,” said the coach. Because Griezmann doesn’t have the skills like others to simply beat opponents on the grand piano.

“Antoine never complains, but in order to develop its full potential, it is always better if a player plays in his best position,”

Deschamps explained. Koeman had criticised Griezmann after scoring 1-1 against Seville on Sunday. “He had two chances today and due to his quality he should have scored a goal in one of those two moves,” said the Dutch.
