Gate too small! Mourinho jokes

Tottenham Hotspur beats FK Shkendija in the European League qualification. The warm-up was extremely curious.

José Mourinho did the test himself. Tottenham Hotspur’s coach stood on the line and raised

his hand. He immediately noticed that the goal to be used in qualifying for the Europa League was too small.

After all, the Portuguese with a size of 1.76 meters almost came to the bar.

FIFA’s statutes state that gates must be at least 2.44 metres high. In the Tose Proeski Arena in Skopje, where Spurs won a 3-1 victory against KF Shkendija from Northern Macedonia, the crossbar was not found at this height. UEFA delegates had measured accurately and confirmed that five centimetres were missing. The two Spurs Keepers Hugo Lloris (33) and Joe Hart (33) had

noticed the error during the warm-up. “They practically live in the gate. I’m not even a Keeper yet and when I raise my arms, I even feel the difference,” Mourinho explained.

Tottenham reported the error immediately. Stadium staff exchanged the posts on both sides and replaced them with compliant objects.

Shkendija could not do anything for the too small goals themselves, as they had only dodged to the Macedonian national stadium and normally played in their own Eccolog Arena.

Mourinho took the incident after the game with humor. “I briefly thought I was growing,” he said on his social media channels.
