London – Jürgen Klopp replaces Thiago in Liverpool’s guest appearance at Chelsea FC. The Spaniard takes an unfortunate action, but without consequences.

Thiago made his debut for Liverpool after switching from Bayern Munich FC – and set the first record right away

The midfielder was traded to the second half by manager Jürgen Klopp in the top match against FC Chelsea on Sunday night’s 2nd day of the Premier League, which the Reds won 2-0 thanks to a double pack from Sadio Mané. The transfer of the 29-year-old had only become perfect on Friday.

Thiago replaced Captain Jordan Henderson in the central defensive midfield. Before the substitution, Klopp spoke to the Spaniard before hugging him.

“If timing fits perfectly, it’s today,” Klopp said, addressing Thiago’s debut with Sky. “At eleven against ten, it was a perfect fit. He doesn’t have any processes of ours in him, as you can see in a few moments. The guys like Naby Keita or James Milner had to plug holes for him, too, but that’s perfectly normal. We wanted possession of the ball, of course, and that looked pretty good. That’s why it was perfect timing.” In fact, Thiago was immediately

able to play his skills in possession of the ball. With 75 passes in 45 minutes, he recorded more passes than any single Chelsea player throughout the game. In addition, the 29-year-old broke the first record: Since data collection in 2003, no professional played so many passes in a maximum of 45 minutes.
