Coach Diego Simeone has been infected with the virus. That’s what the club said on Saturday night. The club therefore has to do without its coach for the time being in preparation.
Accordingly, new tests were carried out on Friday, which yielded a positive result. Simeone is in isolation in his house and is quarantined. However,
the 50-year-old showed no
symptoms. The team, coaches and supervisors had been retested on Friday after returning from the Los Angeles de San Rafael training camp after a positive result had been found the day before. Due to its participation in the Champions League Final Tournament, Atlético will not start the season until 27 September with a home game against Granada FC.
