Lampard defeated Brighton & Hove Albion 3-1.

Werner and Havertz make their debut

In the first Premier League game of the Blues after the million-dollar transfer offensive in the summer, two German newcomers celebrated their Premier League debut with Timo Werner and Kai Havertz.

While Havertz remained largely unremarkable, Werner was one of the assets in the attack of the blues, especially in the first half. Consequently, the national striker was also involved in the lead goal.

Meanwhile, the other newcomers Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva, Malang Sarr and Hakim Ziyech still have to wait for their first appearance for the blues.

Werner involved in leadership hits

Chelsea started off weak, unable to stamp the game in the early minutes. The Seagulls were the better team without giving themselves compelling chances.
