Robert Lewandowski is unusually emotional after the final of the Champions League. The Pole declares his tears – and would choose himself as a world football player.

The cup with the big ears in front of its feet, the medal around its neck, in the wide arms of the flag of Poland.

For Robert Lewandowski, winning the Champions League with FC Bayern was a dream come true.

“I always imagined that I would take such a photo if I won this title,” said the Munich goalkeeper in an interview with the Polish portal Sportowe Fakty.

Before Lewandowski posed for the photographers, however, his feelings overcame him. Tears rolled over the cheeks of the 32-year-old.

“I used to hide my feelings a lot, I couldn’t or didn’t want to show them. But the Lewandowski of ten years ago and the Lewandowski of today are not the same,” explained the Pole.

“After the final whistle, I had no control over what was happening. I was happy as a child. It was the spontaneous reaction of a happy person.”

Shortly afterwards Lewandowski called his wife Anna on the lawn – a very special moment. “She can tell you how much we fought for this moment,” said Lewandowski, who received countless congratulations after whistling.
