Manchester City faces the commitment of a successor to Leroy Sané. A Spaniard from FC Valencia is close to a deal with Citizens.

The transfer from Ferran Torres to Manchester City is on the home stretch.

According to the Spanish newspaper As, ManCity and FC Valencia have agreed on a transfer of 25 million euros, which could rise to up to 37 million euros with bonus payments. The 20-year-old is to sign a five-year contract and succeed Leroy Sané, who has transferred to FC Bayern, in Manchester.

Torres can be deployed on both wings and was under contract in Valencia for only one more year. As the Spanish club failed to qualify for the European Cup, they will have to sell Torres to guarantee much-needed income. The U21 national team player’s contract originally contained a 100 million euro exit clause.

Torres deal before completion
Torres has also been talked about by other top European clubs, but the choice is likely to be City. The deal is to be finalised within the next few days.

Last season the youngster scored four goals and five assists in 24 games.
