Real Madrid are close to the title in the La Liga. After their success against Granada, Zinédine Zidane’s team are just one more victory away from the title.

Spain’s record champions Real Madrid have increased their lead over arch-rivals FC Barcelona to four points again and are now on the verge of their 34th Spanish championship.

The Real celebrated a dazzling 2-1 (2-0) win over FC Granada on the third-last day of play in the La Liga.

Madrid will be able to clinch their first title since 2017 with a home win over FC Villarreal on Thursday.

Barca, who won 1-0 at Real Valladolid last Saturday, will play CA Osasuna at the same time.

The capital’s record-breaking champions laid the foundations for their ninth win in the eighth game since the restart of the league after the Corona break with two quick goals. Ferlan Mendy (10th) and Karim Benzema (16th) initially brought calm to the favourite’s game, with international Toni Kroos in the starting line-up.

Darwin Machis, however, added to the excitement shortly after the break with his follow-up goal (50th), especially since Real lost more and more control of the game as a result. But with a bit of luck, the guests brought the trio over time.
